Summary Engage Education are currently working with an outstanding SEN school in Merton. Pupils are aged 5-19 and have a range of learning and behavioural needs ranging from mild to severe. The school are looking for an experienced English/Literacy Teacher who has the potential to lead literacy across the KS1-KS5. About the role This is a full time position to lead literacy across the whole school so you will be responsible for ensuring all 180 pupils are accessing the curriculum and reaching their potential. You will work closely with class teachers and support staff to drive the curriculum forward and maintain outstanding levels of delivery. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be an experienced English/Literacy practitioner with prior experience working in a specialist school setting. You will have sound knowledge of P Levels and a proven track record with maintaining high standards of teaching. Strong working knowledge of PECS, Makaton and TEACHH are highly desirable. Previous management experience is not essential, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English/Literacy teacher to make a step up in their career. Requirements Previous experience working in a specialist school setting is essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK. You have to have UK QTS or be an overseas trained teacher to apply for the role. Salary and Benefits Competitive daily rates (£175-220 per day).
