The Company and the Role:The Company is a family owned and operated company providing vehicle rental and management for nearly 50-years. They have a diverse range of over 14,500 vehicles ranging from cars, standard and specialist LCVs and HGVs, plant and buggies, and ATVs. Our client also has the largest 4x4 fleet in Europe as well as the biggest rental selection of HGV tippers; crane lorries and buggies in the UK.Currently seeking a Workshop Manager to be based at their depot in Norfolk. The position is permanent.Key Features of the Role:Managing and maintaining efficient and cost effective repairs to a fleet of vehicles ensuring that the equipment is maintained to a first class standard and in line with company policy. Controlling the flow of work through the work shop ensuring technicians are kept productive at all times and requirements of the business are met, including achieving the relevant timescales for vehicles to go on hire or to be sold.In this role, you will assist technicians with problem repairs and provide technical advice where necessary as well as assisting with Training and development of the apprentice's including checking and sign off their work where relevant.You will ensure all vehicle inspections and repairs are to VOSA standards and in line with Manufacture / Company procedures and ensure all vehicles are compliant when they go on hire or are soldKnowledge and Skills:You will be an accomplished Workshop Manager and must hold a recognised time served training certification within the motor industry or similar engineering back ground and demonstrate significant working in the industry after apprenticeship/training completion.The role would suit a candidate with a proven track record working within this role, ideally in motor industry and/or vehicle hire sector (HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Foreman, Manager).You will hold a valid UK HGV Driving license to a minimum of Category BYou will hold a good standard of both written and spoken English and have a good understanding of transport and HSE legislation.What's on Offer:Basic salary is £35k per annum based on a 40 hour contract but you will actually work a 45 hour week Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm with Saturday mornings until 12 when required.
